Diocletian palace in Split

The palace got its name from the Roman emperor Diocletian. He had it built in the year 305 as his retreat. The palace is one of the best preserved natural monuments throughout the world. Today, it houses small boutiques, bars, and cafés.

From the inner courtyard via a staircase, you can reach the interior of the building, which is located directly under the former private chambers. Various retailers have settled here and sell their products.
