The magnificent buildings and numerous museums in Split's old town are really worth seeing. After all, the famous Diocletian's Palace, together with the historic centre, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The picturesque, millennia-old, original stone paths leading to Diocletian's Palace are an experience in themselves. Split also has a beautiful old town with great shops, restaurants and coffee bars, as well as a waterfront with charming infrastructure and a wonderful view of the sea.
