Make the most of your holiday
No matter how long the holiday lasts, it always seems to be too short. Especially when you’ve spent the best days of the year at the Lemongarden Hotel right by the sea. Fortunately, there are still those famous long weekends, the public holidays in May and June, and those in the autumn. If you use your five weeks’ holiday wisely, you can treat yourself to plenty of longer stays here and there. Our tips for maximising your holiday budget in 2026:
9 February 2026
Easter holidays
The next public holiday is on 6 April 2026. This is Easter Monday – a day that is already a public holiday. If you take a total of nine days’ holiday, starting on 28 March, you can have 16 consecutive days off. That’s long enough to go on a long-haul trip , for example, to destinations where the weather is already warm enough for swimming. Of course, we also understand if you’d rather save these days for a time when the Hotel Lemongarden is open again.
As you know, this beautiful hideaway on the island of Brač is closed for the winter until 26 April 2026. However, if you take four days’ holiday and book time off from 27 to 30 April, you could be with us on our opening day and stay for a total of eight consecutive days, that is, until 3 May. This gives you the chance to be there in person as the island comes back to life. Enjoy breakfast in the warm sunshine, right by the sea. Set off on walks, day trips or hikes. The early season is one of the most beautiful times of year on the island of Brač. Leisure travellers are in for a real treat!
A short break in May
Ascension Day on 14 May 2026 and Corpus Christi on 4 June 2026 are the two Thursday public holidays that everyone is surely looking forward to. After all, with just one day’s holiday on the Friday, you can enjoy two long weekends. At the Hotel Lemongarden, the first lemon trees are already in bloom, the sun is really warming up, and the brave are already taking a dip in the sea. Now is the perfect time to get away from the daily grind, enjoy a lemon tart or an Aperol Spritz by our beautiful pool, and breathe in the scent of the blossoming garden.
Are you thinking more of spending Whitsun by the sea? That’s a good idea too. If you book four days’ holiday from 23 May, you can stay until 31 May. That gives you a total of nine days off. Summer is the peak holiday season anyway – and there won’t be any more public holidays to ‘take with you’ for the time being. 15 August, Assumption Day, falls on a Sunday.
Extend your autumn holiday
You won’t get another chance to enjoymore holiday for less until 26 October. That’s because the national holiday falls on a Monday. However, if you’ve still got some holiday days left, you could also set aside five of them for a ten-day autumn break, running from 24 October to 2 November. This is the perfect time to spend a few more days in the sun and properly top up your vitamin D levels before the long winter sets in. The late season on the island of Brač, for example, is perfect for this and is simply magical. Not only because the popular Olive Festival takes place again at the Hotel Lemongarden in October.
For longer weekends during Advent, it’s a good idea to save a day’s holiday. If you take 7 December – which falls on a Monday this year – off, you can set off after work on 4 December and enjoy a four-night break until 8 December .
