Summer Festivals

A Summer Full of Variety on Brač

Festivals are as much a part of summer as sunshine and sunscreen. After all, balmy evenings and long days create the perfect conditions for celebrating and sharing experiences together. Festivals can add exciting new dimensions to a vacation and provide a welcome change of pace. Several festivals take place on the island of Brač during the summer:

July 15, 2026

Brač Classic Festival

The popular summer event series kicks off on July 27, 2026, at the Crkva Uznesenja Blažena Djevica Marije. This church is located just a 3-minute walk from the Lemongarden Hotel in the port of Sutivan. Other venues include Milna, Supetar, and Dračevica. Through August 3, 2026, guests can enjoy classical pieces by lesser-known composers with free admission. The Complete programm can be found on the festival's website.

Graffiti in Gradele, Bol

The picturesque town of Bol on the southern coast of Brač, on the other hand, attracts fans of the visual arts. Here, the International Graffiti Festival—known as “Graffiti na Gradele” in Croatian—brings together artists and creatives from all over the world. They spend several days working on impressive murals, accompanied by DJs and live performances. Graffiti na Gradele will take place from July 24 to 26, 2026.

Postira Seaside Film Festival

The 16th Postira Seaside Film Festival will take place from July 21 to 26, 2026. It has already made a name for itself among film connoisseurs and in the film industry far beyond Croatia’s borders. The films featured come from various corners of the world, but they are always fiction short films. Screenings take place outdoors, and admission is free.

Supetarsko Lito

Under the title “Supetarsko Lito,” which translates to “Supetar Summer,” the capital of the island of Brač is once again hosting a series of summer events this year for visitors and locals alike. The program includes live musical performances such as concerts and DJ sets, poetry, activities for children, creative workshops, and exhibitions at the Ivo Rendic Gallery. The complete program can be found here.

Vanka Regule: The Festival That No Longer Exists

Almost like a ghost festival, references to the world-famous Vanka Regule (“Beyond the Rules”) extreme sports festival in Sutivan linger across the vastness of the internet. Numerous tourism websites still promote it - even though it was discontinued before the pandemic after a 16-year run.

Perhaps it’s simply hard to say goodbye to a festival with such a unique atmosphere - one often described as “Woodstock meets the X Games.” Outdoor sports enthusiasts, adventure seekers from around the world, and locals celebrated all aspects of extreme sports for an entire week. In addition to athletic competitions, there was a small film festival featuring short films and documentaries, an open-air disco, and parties. Guests who come to Sutivan today hoping to attend Vanka Regule will initially be disappointed to learn that it no longer takes place. Fortunately, however, there are numerous other festivals on the island that make summer here so special.
